Dick Ryerson taught sculpture, drawing, design and
woodworking at Mt. San Antonio College for many years. More
recently he began studying the art of bonsai and in the process
began developing bonsai containers for his own use and for members
the southern California bonsai
community.
Ceramics was a minor in college, but has become his passion as he learns
more about the aesthetics of bonsai display. He strives to reflect
the ancient traditions of bonsai potters, yet works from an American
point of departure.
He lives in Upland, California
and works at the Xiem Clay Center on North Lake Street in Pasadena.
